We oftentimes tell persons they need to come into a relationship with Jesus but have we ever stop to think that so many of us don’t even know what a true relationship is. We have nothing by which to measure this relationship except our own failed experiences.
If I were to use relationships I’ve had in the past both interpersonal and familial then I would not have been able to foster this relationship that I now have with Jesus. Those relationships lacked trust, open. communication and unconditional love.
Oftentimes our physical relationships are so toxic and judgemental they leave us with more bruises and scars than bandages.
In our relationships we must be real and relatable to the situations and the persons involved.
To have a good relationship is to know the person and have the person know you. Jesus Christ is the creator of heaven and earth and all that is within (Psalms 24:1). He sees to our very core and foundation and knows even the end of our days.
If Jesus already knows you why not be real to him? Be real to say I don’t know or understand this relationship “thing” and he will no doubt teach and bring you into one.
Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest (Matt 11: 28-29). When you don’t have someone in your corner to be real with you, you will become drained or even frustrated at times.
Real knows real! Jesus knows you so go to him in the truest sense and just talk as it comes. Do this a few times and then you’ll realize you have the best relationship ever. This relationship then becomes the basis and foundation for all ensuing relationships.
A solid relationship with Jesus brings joy unspeakable and will make up for all the wrong and bad ones you’ve had.
Peace…be blessed and encouraged!
